Mount Mouchet

Culminating at 1497m (4911ft), Mont Mouchet is the highest peak of Margeride and sits astride three counties: Lozère, Cantal and Haute-Loire. The viewpoint indicator on the summit offers a 360° panorama over the whole Massif Central. The soft and wooded reliefs make it an ideal and renowned place in Margeride for family hikes and mushroom or berry picking.

Throughout the years, Mount Mouchet has always been a place where historical events would unfold. From the killing of the unfamous Best of Gevaudan to the hiding of resistance fighters during WWII, this fascinating area is an absolute must-see when in Margeride !
